I AM IN NEED OF A HANDLE FOR MY STANLEY MITER VISE, ANY HELP WILL BE APPRECIATED.  THANKS  ROGER

Is it gone or broken?  What do you think the chances are for re-purposing a faucet handle? 
I haven't seen any handles lying around, though that doesn't mean none exist.   Get something
that will make it work, and then keep an eye out for an original.

It is gone--I guess it was broken and then tossed.

I was hoping someone had a vise that was broken and could part it out.

Maybe a picture of a similar vise, so the rest of us know what you are looking for, without having to do a search on the net.

These are things that may help in the search.

The models 100 and 400 , and also the H.G. Marsh are the same

The handles look like this.  "Modern" 400s have tubular handles.

Its unlikely anyone is going to have a matching handle.
Its possible, and no harm at all in asking, but its unlikely.
  If we could see a photo of the tang that the handle mounts to? And its measurements?
It might be possible to keep an eye out and look though old faucets until something workable was found?

It is pinned onto a 1/2 inch round shaft

 If you just want a working vise, the original Marsh vise (pre Stanley) used a rectangular bar which seems to work pretty well.
I have a Stanley 100 & a 400 but no spare knobs.  a handle for a valve might work also.

McMaster Carr or Carr Lane sell cast knobs that would function.  They will not be the same as an original, but would work for  a user.

What is the vintage of your square handled Marsh?  I've never seen those handles before.  Mine has the same handles as the post Stanley versions.  I don't recall the vintage of the drawing I posted, but that's a Marsh machine.

I like these vises a lot.  I've been using one or another since about 1961 or so.  The first I used was a Stanley 400.  Now I have a Stanley 100 and a Marsh 100.

 Don't know vintage of my vise but it has original pat dates cast in base. Since original pat 408248 speaks of circular thumbscrews with milled peripheral handles, I must conclude they were always round and my vise has been modified by previous owner. Rectangular handles are welded to turnscrews and welds do not look factory made. Must be and old old modification. Sorry for any confusion my lack of close inspection may have caused.
