I picked up one of these last weekend, had the other awhile.   Was real surprised when I put them together.   Note the 12 inch rule laying across the tops.  A great feeling after oiling up one of these and give the handle a push.   One is a Mechanics Special, Chicago, and the other is a Buda HyDuty, Harvey Ill.  They turn just so darn smooth.  The chicken splatter on the one is actually solder used to repair the outer bearing.  If a guy put that much work into a repair, he must have liked the tool a lot.   Have several a lot smaller, but ones this size seem scarce.    Anybody else got a big one like this?

I have a couple of the smaller ones and would like to have one like yours.

These both have six inch stones, saw another today at a flea market, he is very proud of it, priced at $95.   I left it right there.

Buda, founded in 1881, in Harvey Illinois later became Buda Engine Company. They made four and six cylinder gas engines for industrial and truck use. In the late thirties, the built diesels and in 1953 Allis Chalmers acquired Buda. I didn't know that they made grinders.

I aint got no big ones just a small one. There size is what makes me like those big boys, there deffinitly keepers.
