...and I can't believe what some Ebayers think individual Plomb wrenches or sockets or rats should "start" at.  Fortunately, the ones I've watched get no bids, so I'm thinking that the consumers out there are wising up.  I'm also thinking that since Ebay has free listings now and free re listings if the item doesn't sell, there's no penalty for listing something at a ridiculous starting price or BIN.  The fact that the sellers keep re-listing at the same price also makes me wonder how badly they want to get rid of their treasures.  If Ebay were wise, they'd offer free listings for the .99 starting bids and charge fees for anything started out higher and every time a BIN gets relisted, the percentage Ebay takes would rise.  Yeah, prolly ain't gonna happen....

To me, if you don't have confidence in what you are selling(that it will bring"market value")  by starting the item out at .99(or whatever ridiculously low starting price would be for that item), then you really don't want to sell the item that badly or you're relying on Ebay's"What's It Worth" feature, which to me is of no value for what I put up for sale.  It's real worth is what someone is willing to bid for it(and eventually pay for it) and nothing more.

I don't know how many auctions I've been to where the auctioneer starts something out at 10 or 25 or 100 dollars and 15 seconds later is still trying to get an opening bid for a fraction of what he or she started at.  Maybe it's because they're selling other people's stuff, but most of them DO work on commission, and 40% of no bid is still zero in most math books.....lol

Back to the original topic,  I've noticed the prices(and biding) for the double ended adjustable wrenches going through the roof too, regardless of size or brand name.  The Plomb/Proto keychain screwdrivers are getting pricey too(and people are bidding on these items!!)

Off the soapbox for a few days now...
