First car was a 50 Studebaker.  Looked like a submarine.
Bought it in 1960 for $15, drove it for a couple of months, and junked it for $20.
The only car I ever made a profit on.

WOW, you guys had some great cars in the past. To bad you still didnt all have them. Expecially great prices you got them for.

Yeah, I'm the weird one that has a car that is fairly new......  but, it's the car I've had all my life. Everyone else has some bad-ass  cars.  (pardon my language).  But, I still have my volvo, it's the first car I had, it's still the car I have!!!
I can now see how absurd it is to talk about my first car when it's come from the early 90's........   all of your cars are much more beautiful.  But, I'll stick by this old  (relatively new) car.  I haven't had a relationship or pet that is as old as my love for this 240!
Well, the cars you folks have been talking about and posting pictures are incredible.  I've enjoyed seeing them, and am quite jealous.
But, I thought I'd respond with my 240........  just to keep things lively!!!!!
cheers

I bought a 1947 Mercury in 1967, went thru several engines. It has a 392 HEMI now. I have a 1939 Ford pickup that I have driven daily for 17 years often driving thru 4 states pulling a trailer with an antique car or tractor on the trailer. I have my grandfathers 1954 Ford and his 1937 Ford pickup. A 59 Ford that we've been driving more than 10 years, a 57 Chevy, more than 20 years, a 31 Model A coupe more than 14 years, original engine but I fixed the things Henry didnt know about back then and I have 9 more Model As and a bunch of Model Ts, 10 1940 Ford pickups, 7 1950 Ford cars and old tractors, motorcycles and stuff. The newest car I have is a 1966 Chrysler Convertible.  The only reason I have something that new is because my parents died, I inherited  it. They had it 25 years, I have had it 17.
I have been rebuilding my 1941 Ford 9N tractor engine, it's almost ready to put back on the tractor.

My first car was a 1928 Frod Model A Sport Coupe.  I built it up from parts.  I finished it in 1968.  Before that bmy brother and I went half on a 1929 Model A Roadster Pickup, but he titled it in his name only.  My mother let me drive her 1960 Thunderbird hardtop  for special occasions.

Now I drive a 2001 Frod F250 with a service box.  I maintain about 1,000 acres of timberland and the related equipment.

I still have the Sport Coupe.

1980 Monte Carlo.  55,000 miles on it when I bought it in 1993.  Drove it a day and a half and the 229 V6 locked up tight.  I drove it less than 100 miles.  Currently, I drive a 1997 C1500 Silverado extended cab with a 350 Vortec, 4 speed automatic and 3.73 posi.  Love the power, won't discuss the gas mileage.....
My toolbox isn't complete, and I'm not either.  We're both missing parts!

I'm right there with Heelspur.  My first car was a '71 Plymouth Fury.  It belonged to my Dad, but was mine to drive.  My current ride is a '97 Dodge Ram 2500 V10 pickup.  Looks like a tank...rides like a tank.  I also have a '04 Audi A4 convertable.  More a ride for my girlfriend or a Sunday drive thru
the mountains.

Rusty,

I'm sure you are right.  Luckily my commute is 25 miles a day round trip.  Most of the people I work with drive at least 25 miles each way!  The curse of living around Los Angeles...  You can see or do just about anything here, but none of it is close!

I am a big car/motorcycle/truck/jeep guy. My first car in my name was a 1968 ford LTD 4 door. Grandpa gave it to me, I don't remember the miles but it was starting to rust out. The only redeeming factor was it had a 390 big block and moved pretty good. I have owned dozens of cars over the years and at one time had 3 vehicles and all were big block engines.
My current daily driver car and newest vehicle is a 2005 Toyota matrix XRS. It has a high output 4 cyl engine and is quick and can get 30 MPG. I currently also own a 2000 GMC 1 ton 2WD pickup, a custom jeep, and last week bought a 1975 Buick LeSabre convertable for my son and I to restore.
