I wanted to introduce myself earlier but I kept forgetting. I'm 17 and I live in La Crete, Alberta, Canada. My dad has been collecting tools for as long as I can remember, and he has passed the bug on to me. This summer I started working at the La Crete Mennonite Heritage Village. When we found some tools in storage that I couldn't identify I found this site and joined. It has been very useful already and I have barely scratched the surface of the collection. There are a couple hundred of tools that I hope to identify and hopefully make a proper exhibit of. At home my dad's collection consists mostly of handplanes (about 40) and some other woodworking tools.
I'm very grateful for the help I have been given so far, and I hope to use this forum a lot in the future.

Great to see someone young with an interest in history on here. For most of us the moon landing is current events. I wanted to visit the museum in Lacrete this summer but maybe next year.

We landed on the moon? When did *that* happen? yeash, I sleep for a couple years and look what happens...

Just a weathered light rust/WD40 mix patina.

I can't post pic from my iPad but I hope to get some pics online soon. Dad came back from Indiana yesterday with a couple good finds. He managed to find a Stanley 113 type one with decent finish left. It's pretty hard to find anything interesting around here anymore.
