As alluded to in a previous post, sent my wife out shopping while I had to work Friday and she contributed mightily.    I only hit 2 sales after work; one being a revisit to the one she hit and I found a few more items worth saving.

Photo #1 Has the semi rusty Wards Master Quality Tool box, a Blackhawk 500 Speeder(1/2"), a Rigid strap wrench(is the fabric part of this replaceable?), a really old Craftsman 1/4" drill, Lakeside pipe wrench, pliers, Dunlap Pliers, prolly the smallest #2 phillips C-man screwdriver ever, a no-name hex drive auto tool kit(?), a Chicago square drive ratchet and the two mystery items I posted in Whazit.

Photo#2  S set of Thorsen combos missing the 11/16", a strange old chalk line yo have to pry apart to get chalk into, a Vlchek Auto Wrench, A pair of Wright flex handles(1/2") One being a  A  51+ and the other a 52-(what's the difference?), and a Disston handle and a Disston gouge,

Photo #3 Has the better condition Wards Tool Box, a 1/2" C-man speeder, A Blackhawk 4926 13/16", a Mephisto #43, several old wrenches(one Billings)chisels and punches, Dunlap plug gauge, a Superior Hex key set, Channellock nippers, Rock Island train wrench, Injdestro auto wrench and another Vlchek monkey/auto wrench.

Photo# 4- 5 NOS Penny's fine grade 5" grinding stones, A Penny's 6' tape measure, An American made Tandy(radio shack) engraver, a Craftsman drill, and a Peerless incomplete hex key set.

Several other items acquired but not worth photographing...

She is doing fine.
My wife will sometimes come along, but doesn't really try to look at old tools. Once or twice she has spied something in a pile of rust that I missed.

My wife is a member of the forum although she hasn't been on in a while, and most times she goes with me when I look for rust and helps me look...

I wish I could get my wife on the tool forum! All I ever hear is, "Do you REALLY need another screwdriver???" The last one I got was a bit of overkill - telescoping, multiple bit, magnetic tip WITH a built in flashlight - but come on.

My wife is supportive in that she never complains about me buying tools or going to swaps. She never complains about me having too many ratchets or whatever and she seems excited when I get a package in the mail or come home with treasures from the swap in my backpack. 1

For my birthday one year she called the Snap on dealer and had him come to my work and she let me choose whatever I wanted off the truck.

But getting her to go with me to the swaps is next to impossible and forget about getting her to go to a yard sale with me.

I enjoy going to swap meets with 64. I even carry the backpack for him. I don't have a very good idea of what he wants because he has a wide range of interests, so I just point out things I think he might have missed. It works out well for us. I feel that no one can ever have enough tools and duct tape.

The truth has been spoken! Never enough tools or duct tape!!

Regardless, 4 eyes at any event are better than two, or 4 eyes at separate events are better than not attending one of the events at all....

Is the webbing strap on the Rigid replaceable??  Not sure if it'd grip much right now....

Duct tape is great, but, since I've discovered Extreme Tape, my repair jobs have never been the same!

rusty

Just a weathered light rust/WD40 mix patina.

This stuff works much better, be sure to read the user comments.

LOL...The second comment from "ClarkstonCracker" he owns the "great lakes 4 X 4" website I used to frequent. A lot of childish profanity but a great deal of humor there.

My wife was always supportive but she is a little burnt out at my efforts to rebuild the collection after the fire.

Extreme Tape is a rip off of the Military's F4 Tape. The U.S.A.F. has had F4 Tape for over 40 years that I know of...
