My dad told me he found an "old" wrench in the bottom of his tool box (1950's SO) and I could have it if I wanted.  Having been inflected with the old vise virus last summer, I fear it has worsened to include old tools.

While searching the web for the metal handled 18 inch adjustable wrench, I found this site and liked what I have been reading.  It turns out it is an 18 inch Coes/Billings monkey wrench.  never saw an all metal version.  I will post some pic's later.

Just wanted to say Hello and thanks for an informative site.

Welcome to the site, don't be afraid to share these fine old tools.  The all metal monkey wrenches were generally used in industry, and railroad.  The wood scale handles, aka perfect handle,  were sold to farmers, and workmen doing lighter repair.   I have seen the all steel ones belt though.
