Ya'll will probably guess this one pretty quick, but I thought they were neat, and didn't know what I had when I first bought them.

I don't know, but judging from your file names, I'm guessing some type of thermostat?

Thermostat part.  Not sure whose, but look commercial.

Yeah, it's a thermostat. I put that in the file name to see who would pick up on it.

The way it was explained to me is that this would have been mounted in a housing at schools. As you can see by the bottom photo, it would require a key - like a clock key - to adjust the setting, to keep some knotheaded kid from cranking the temperature up or down.

Similar to the plastic thermostat lock boxes during the Jimmy Carter years.  I remember teachers using a piece of wire thru the slots to change the settings.

We had those in our old high school. We used to pack a snowball on them to crank up the heat.:)
