Thought Id share a photo of 6 of my favorite cast iron implement toolboxes. I own about 40 others but I'm a little partial to these. The GILPIN in particular cause of ifs rarity.

Those are mighty fine.   How about the one that has the round holder for a pump oiler built in?

The 3rd one down in listed in Wayne Dills list as a John Deere sulky cultivation box. The bottom one is unknown.

For those of us who have lived a sheltered life, could you explain what these are?

Thanks

Horse drawn implements came with their own wrenchs that fit the particular sized bolts on the machine. Since there was not a standard at the time every mfgr cut their own nuts and bolts. These tool boxes we mounted on the side or tounge of the machine and held the wrenchs.

These pictures are outstanding. I, for one, would love to see even more pictures of your collection, especially wrenches in my case. It looks like you have a very impressive collection of many different things.
Unfortunately, I don't have space to do anything with all mine, so it's almost impossible to picture most of them.

Ill post some pictures in the farm related section...

Thanks for all of your postings of photos. Very impressive.  I can't make out the tractor in your avatar. What is it? Maybe post a full size photo?  You might want to think about photobucket or one of the other photo sites. It makes posting here easier because there is no limit to the number of links that you can post and you don't have to shrink them when you post them.  Great collection.

Its a 1938 Oliver Row Crop 80. Very rare with the wide front and full steel. I own the tractor with my dad. Restore it over the course of a full year. Omni paint with PPG Deltron Concept clearcoat. Will be featured in Antique Power magazine as soon as I get the article written. My photo is too large to post.

And thanks btw John. I've collected for quite awhile. I pick em up here and there. Ebay, flea markets, swap meets. I've been fortune to find some rare wrenchs at bargain prices. I'm too poor to play with the big boy collectors so I just hunt a little harder. It gives me a break frim my real love which is showing cutting horses.
