Anyone have any info on them being suppliers for tool-kit tools, grease guns, air pumps ect late 20s at least

1919 they are advertising quick change rim spreaders, at least, address w. 54th st , ny
1920 they changed their name to KP Products co, same street address, same tool, same advertisment...
still around in 1922 (patent, engine governor)

Unfortunatly, there is a modern company with the same name (makes paper), makes it annoying to search....

[They are still around in 1950, but seem to be talking about engine governors only....(SAE journ)

Thanks Rusty, can you also tell me how people are able to send me pict. with measurements already attached. They are able to show me an engine crank for instance and show me all the measurements on the same drawing. Is this a special software I have to buy, hoping its free is it difficult to learn how to do.

I guess I should add that I dont and will not store pict. online. I dont have time for all of that. I was hoping there would be a way to get my pict either from a disk or saved on my comp and then edit them any way Iike. Is this still possible, I have wondows XP I think

You are talking about CAD software, where you can draw something, and the dimensions are part of the drawing, and can be made part of the picture of the thing you are drawing. Good software that does this well is not cheap, and you are not going to learn how to use it in an hour.

I can't even think of anything to recommend, there are some free things, but they are more targeted to animators, they are complex as hell, and they are probably overkill for what you want, tho, I don't really know exactly what you want to do. If you just want to add a few lines to a photo and some text to show size, a paint program is probably easier, at least as far as learning curve, but it is a pain to work on a picture that was, as the computer isn't helping you at all, it doesn't know anything about pictures, or how big anything is, you have to do all that yourself. The henmeral idea of CAD software is to tell the computer all about the thing you are drawing, in exchange, it helps out by being able to do nice things like adding dimension lines,  etc...

Bob, you can use irfanview to put text in your pictures, but short of CAD software, I don't know any way to just have the measurements show up.
On ifranview, you can add text anywhere on the picture you want, and in many fonts.

The links to irfanview in an above post will get you there. I use it to put text and captions on photos, but haven't tried lines. I'm sure it can be done and is probably easy.

You can also you a software called SNAGIT.  I am not sure the cost (I cheat and do it at work), but it is pretty straight forward.  I snagged the image of one of the posts and added the red arrows and text box in a couple seconds.

I found this thread while researching a tank I'm considering ebaying. I found very little on the net regarding my particular tank, or KP Manufacturing for that matter, except for this conversation (and a photograph site selling a picture of their building in Minneapolis in 1947). And while neither seems to be doing me much good, maybe these pictures can help YOU.

(Although, I suspect there may be more than one K.P. Manufacturing, as I see reference to a NY location in a previous post).

Actually, if anyone can tell me anything about this tank in turn, it's appreciated. Part of the label is missing, but it looks like it says "TRANS.....", for transmission fluid.... It's about 5 gallon size and is thick gauge steel, about that of a propane tank, and is well constructed.

I suspect that they are , in fact, 2 different companies, I find references from the early 1940's up to the 1970's for the Minneapolis Company. They seem to have been selling general lubrication equipment, air powered grease guns etc,EZ GREASER Grease Dispenser, etc...

There is yet another K-P btw, Keys Piston ring co, St Louis...

PS: Does the pump work? if so, does it create a vacuum in the can? I think you have a device for sucking out transmission fluid....

Nice forum. I'm a casual tool collector myself. I pick-up the ones I like here and there, and put them in a large old carpenters chest I have. My perfect handle wrench is one of my favorites.

That's how I started out, too.  It won't last.  One old carpenters chest?  I'm at three or four now...  All the tools won't fit in them by a long shot!

Please post here when you list that tank on ebay, I would like to bid on it.
