Craftsman ....what's it used for?

Can't figure out what this is used for..... It's craftsman.... Thinking it may be part of something bigger...... Looks like it's made to hold something

Probably a hold down for a mortising attachment for a drill press.  Google around a little, and you'll find other examples.  This holds the stock down when you're pulling the mortise chisel/bit out of the stock.

This is my thought, too.  Mortising machine hold down.

+3 on drill press mortiser. That's only half the equation there but put 'er in that mail box ya got there and send 'er my way. :)
