I'd like to identify this to see if I should give it a good home.

Looks like it recently lost it's tag. It's a heavy bugger.

It looks like the one's they sell at the big box stores like costco, sams club, etc.. I had one that worked great for years, until an 8 foot cheater bar broke it. I'm assuming yours has no ID marks on it at all, is that correct?

It is called a swivel vise. Look under the mounting plate for name or numbers.

I was able to turn it around just to see that the name plate was missing. It was a bit heavy to turn over. I didn't see any markings on it anywhere that I could see. Didn't check the bottom. I think I'll hold out for a USA one if I can. I have a couple of smaller ones for now. The shop is only asking 99 bucks for it, so it is probably from the Peoples Republic.

I have one that looks exactly like that in the shop, same tag location...made in china...hasn't broken yet tho, but it slips a bit when clamped and is somewhat annoying at times....
Just a weathered light rust/WD40 mix patina.
