Found this at a yard sale today.  The handles on all the other PH drivers I've seen have been a flattened oval shape.  This one's more of a square with rounded corners - new to me.  Is this a common design that I just haven't seen before?

I have seen those, but they are not H D Smith.

Its the Pexto pattern Bill.  Either the name stamp is worn off, or it was contract made and used to have a paper label or something.
But its the Pexto pattern alright.

I don't see those very often, have just one in my pile.  See about 15 PH screwdrivers for every one of the Pexto style.  Just something nice about the feel of them.

Funny how different parts of the country are heavy on certain makers.  I find a fair amount of pexto ,
but very little PH. I like all Pexto products , nice feel to the tools.

I live in the town where both the Pexto and the HD Smith factories were, Southington (Plantsville) CT.
I have scored a lot of both makers tools. Lots of times at tag sales at former workers homes. 

I had one of them that was stamped True Value on the hex.
