I found these Barcalo  USA  LOCK - JAWS Pat # 2576286 pliers at a garage sale over the weekend.  This is the first pair of locking pliers I've ever found made by Barcalo. And Barcalo was made here in Buffalo,N.Y. You would think that these would be at more estate sales. I thought they were pretty cool.

Very interesting; I've never seen those before either.

But I have seen the patent in use before...

Examples of both the BARCALO & CHANNELLOCK locking pliers are shown in the 2nd & 3rd images of the DATAMP entry  ( http://www.datamp.org/patents/displayPatent.php?number=2576286&typeCode=0 )   for patent no. 2,576,286.  The patent was for the lock release lever & it is interesting to see how it was applied to two very different locking plier wrench designs.

I have two pairs of locking pliers. They were made by the Vise Grip company, and marked P&C and Proto. I have not seen the above pliers either.

How well do the Barcalos work?  I have used the Channellock version and it works quite well.  Good amount of grip force.
I traded them to Neal for a nice 11" adjustable.
