Finally got the big anvil I have been searching for.   Hay Budden 170lbs.   Had to stick it out at auction, after waiting 5 hours in 90 degree heat.   Got some other nifty things too, but this anvil and its stand,   taps me out for awhile.

John,

That is a beautiful specimen of an anvil. It will serve you well! Looks to have been taken care of previously.

My working anvil was on a stump.  Saw a big one at least 250# in Kent,UK that sat on a beautiful big cast pedestal.  My late Welsh girl friend kept threatning me to have the smith strike the anvil and say "Now you may kiss the bride".  Of course, with a Gretna Green accent.  Chuck Garrett
