AA was no help on this one, so I'm gong to the gurus.  Not sure where I picked this thing up at, but I was cleaning out the shop today and found it and noticed what appeared to be the proper letters, but they were in an mild "S" shape and encircled(really more of an oval).  If anyone could help me out on this, that would be great.

The craftsman name was bought from Marion-craftsman tool co in 1927 by Sears (wiki) perhaps yours predates 1927 ?
