#3 with the wood handle has "Pat'd Apr 27 09"........ The rest don't have any markings that I could see.  Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

This one looks like a multitool. Should have additional bits inside.
Can you tell us what the bit that is on it does?

The last item is a sailors palm for heavy duty stitching as for sails.  It fits the hand and is used to push the heavy needle thru heavy fabric

Items-  number two, the hooks, look like two of the three hooks that would be part of a hand rope  making machine. The machine would have three hooks which revolved in a circular plate driven by a set of gears and a hand crank.... Twists the three strands clockwise and imparts the lay of the rope counter-clockwise, or vice-versa.

It's just a thread with a nut.  There's no hole for a bit to go into or anything.  The wood on that end is also a lot lighter than the rest, leading me to believe it has been worked on recently or it's missing another part.

Here's the end of it.

The first item is, I am reasonably certain, a sickle bar holder for a hand crank grinder.   It attached to the front of the grinder frame, which was clamped onto the wheel of the horse drawn mower.   The sickle was 5 foot long, and when dull did not cut well.   This device made it so the machine did not have to be returned to the shed for sharpening.    Think farm use, for mowing hay.  Interesting assortment.

Agree.

The patent for 3 is likely 919,618 a tool for facing valves. (eg faucet type)
Various stones go on the threaded and....
