Hi guys,

I have purchased A lot of tools and found one interesting one. It is 11" long w metal part with a 2 1/2 inch long tear dropped shape tool with serrations around 1/4 " deep and 7 per ". Handle is wood and is marked( Canada 1951  no 4719126 patenteted lynh lung remover patented u.s. nos.  some140193 - 25g 3957.
I inititally thought it might a coroner's tool, but steel appeared too cheap. searches made me realize this is poultry dressing tool.! ( for those who don't know me, i.m a paramedic and had slight hope I might add to medical tool collection.)

Anyone seen something like this before?

Kris, I believe the tool you are talking about was patented Jan. 30, 1945
patent was applied for on Feb. 9, 1944

Chicago had many stock yards.

so it looks like 6 years later, they protected the patent in Canada.

when looking up this patent, you have to put in;  D140193     (D is for design)

patent D140193 was issued to Edward M. Lynn, Chicago, ILL

DESIGN FOR AN EVISCERATING TOOL FOR FOWLS OR THE LIKE.

the picture shows an open loop with serations on a steel & wood handle.
