Like Papaw says a model number would be a big help. Stanley made lots of different models from the late 1800's up into the 1970's and maybe even later in England.

I have a book listing Stanley tool that was compiled in 1996 and it shows quite a few miter boxes but none with that number. I think the last 4 numbers may the model number, the book I have lists a 2244, a 2246, 2258, 2358m, and 2360. I was wrong about the years in my first post, some models were made up into the 1980's. From the pictures I have it looks quite similar to a model 2358 which was made from 1932 to 1982. There is a updated book put out by the same author ( John Walters ) but I don't have a copy of it, it may have more listings.
