Did Pepsi ever make a tool repair kit?

Today at the flea market I saw a tool kit put together especially for Pepsi vending machines. It seemed to all be original and very well put together in a cantilever tool box. The box was painted and had "Drink, pepsi-cola, ice cold" in three lines. The box itself was blue with a white circle and red lettering.

None of the tools were in great condition but they were all matching and worn equally. The box had the typical scratches from use.

The seller said he picked it up in a lot with a bunch of Pepsi machines and parts. Most parts and a few machines he still had. He assumed the set to be original from the late 40s. When asked if I can take a few pictures he said not unless I buy it.

So was this something Pepsi would of provided or sold to the machine salesman or was it something a serviceman put together for his own repairs?

1) could have been a set the office sold/provided for him

2) could have been a set he assembled himself, and was proud of working for Pepsi

3) the seller was a dick not to let you take a picture

60s was the era when companies got into that tool kit kick.

Not real likely Pepsi would have had a machine service man on the road in that time frame though, much easier to swap out a machine and bring the bad machine back to the distribution center.  Road service is expensive service compared to shop service on that equipment.  Shop could repair and test road service might have to do a call back eating hours for travel.

Most likely the bored shop guy just decorated his tool box.

Higher end machines like Xerox copiers that were expensive to move were serviced by techs who carried fancy atache cases made up by Xerox 100 at a time on Child Street in Rochester.  Kit got replaced on a schedule because scuffed cases didn't fit the company image.  The 2 anal creatures in that shop destroyed the old cases before dumpstering them.

X2 and I would have taken them anyway if I wanted them badly enough

So far I am thinking its just something somebody put together very well a long time ago. I looked around the internet for it but cant find anything.

The price was pretty steep.

If it had been "embossed" Pepsi I'd would have jumped on it, but since it wasn't  probably not the "real thing"  pun intended.
