How about a How's-it

Instead of a What's-it lets try a How's-it as in how has it been used other than the original designed use. I'm talking about how have you used adjustable wrenches other then as a wrench? One or two working together.
1. Hammer
2. Steel Band Cutters two working together
3. Increase leverage on a open end wrench by looping the handle hole into the jaws on the back end of the wrench
4. Sheet metal brake or straightener, bracket bender
5. Add turning power to square shafted screw drivers.

Weld extension on each end and use to twist hot bar in ornamental ironworking.

In a safety video I had to watch there was a scenario where a guy wrapped a wrench handle in electrical tape for working on live electric. The guy didn't make it, keep in mind it was just a made up scenario. Then it talked about how insulated tools specifically designed for live electrical are different from other tools.

I have a friend who can use a claw hammer to open a beer bottle.  I have tried, but it hurts my knuckles.

I keep a pair of large ones in the truck that I use most often for fixing bent hinges (from the wind, common on alumnium doors)

Now that I ponder on it, I don't think I have ever used either of them on a actual bolt..

I suppose this goes under Bracket Bending tho ;P

I have used one for a door stop tho....but then, I use whatever I am not using in the tool bucket for a door stop...even tho I have 3 or 4 in the truck, the truck is 40 feet away, the bucket is next to my foot....

They work great for straightening out the ends on broken cast iron pipe.
There are times when a space is to tight to use cast iron cutters, so using
the end of an adjustable, about a 1/4", over the end of the pipe and nipping
off small amounts at a time. It doesn't come out perfect but it works.

Big screwdrivers are the best paint tin openers and can be used to stir the paint.

grab the nut with tip of one wrench & use other to rotate that wrench, useful when interference prevents grabbing nut on it's side.
(i.e. in a recess, etc..  when you don't have a socket or crowsfoot handy)

Saw this at a wrench club meet a few years back -- use adjustable wrenches & lengths of dowels to make triangular display easels (for open books, etc.)

As for the "adjustable socket wrench for recessed nuts" -- that's why you always have at least 2 pairs of Vise-Grips handy.

When hanging pipe under sloped roofs we would use two, with tge 3/8" threaded rod threaded through the hole end to bend the rod level.
