Sherman Clove wrench set find
« on: March 26, 2014, 10:22:23 PM »
I found this wrench set at a estate sale. It's a Sherman Clove Box wrench set from 3/8" - 1" .  How old do you guys think this is ?
I have a bunch more from the same sale. I'll put them on later.

Perhaps before 1932?
Per Alloy Artifacts-
"In 1932 Sherman-Klove formed an S-K Tools division and began offering tools under the S-K brand, using a design with "S-K Tools" in a diamond as a logo. The company filed a trademark application for the S-K diamond logo in 1933, with December of 1932 listed as the first use date, so we can assume that as the starting date for the tools division."

Very cool. I've never seen tools marked "Sherman-Klove"...

The SK website history page says the name changed to S-K tools during the depression in the 30's. So, your tools are earlier.

Here's a good company history that I found.

My dad is a big S-K fan, so those were the first tools I used growing up. Guess I never stopped to think that they might have been something else before they were S-K
My friends call me Bob. My wife calls me a lot worse.

Wow!!
A package arrived here today and inside was....

The set of Sherman Klove wrenches! Thanks, Ken! I have several sets of wrenches like this, and this set has the usually missing proper pin and wing nut!
Thanks again!
