Schweppe promotional caliper

A little 4" external caliper (?) with leather sleeve, undistinguished except as a "British Made" promotional item for "Schweppe Devonshire Cyder." From the Thursday antiques-and-collectibles street market in Oxford.

I really like advertizing stuff too.

  While it can be used as shown for exterior of parts,
  it was actually made to gauge internal diameters of holes and cylinders.
Keep swiveling the jaws until they meet up on the other side. 

Outside calipers have the wide bowed legs.
