Battery powered wrench
« on: August 05, 2015, 02:22:10 PM »
Well i did it.  Couldn't stop myself.  Stopped at one last garage sale, on the sign out front was ((MANY TOOLS)).   Fine, if you like old worn 9 volt contractor drills, and lots of concrete equipment.  Dug around a bit and spied a red/black/silver 10 inch adjustable.  Black&Decker, battery powered, ambidextrous, but works better in the right hand, if your thumb is in working condition.   Also works without batteries, but is as loose, and poorly fitted as a 1960s Japanese adjustable.  Got home, and put in two new AAA cells.  Direct drive on the motor, no toque but fast.  Actually used it to put on a new shower head.   Keep it around for awhile as a novelty.  Heard of them but first I have seen in the wild.  $5.

Yep we sold one of those at the Thrift Sale last weekend. After putting in two new batteries, we probably sold it at a loss. I couldn't bring myself to charge more than a couple of bucks for it. Found it almost impossible to use without accidentally triggering it to open or close...  A marvel of misplaced ingenuity.
