coopers tools?

These are two massive .... planes, I guess I'd call them. They have two other big wooden attatchments with them. HELP

These two are Howells.  They are a sort of plane.  After a barrel has been "raised" it is prepared to accept the heads.  First the howell is used to create a uniform surface for cutting the groove (croze) that holds the head.

The second set of photos show another Howell first.  The second photo shows a croze (yep, the tool and the groove have the same name) and the cutting part of another croze.

Hard to tell, but in the cardboard box, there is what looks to be another cooper's speciality plane along with a smoothing plane and a partial plow plane.
