does anyone recognize this small wrench?
« on: September 23, 2015, 11:17:22 PM »

I would have thought this was an ignition wrench except for its odd size - the larger end is .458 inches, the smaller end is .219 inches, it is stamped "D.E.1 FOR DELCO", and that text is preceeded by a GB inside a circle. On the other side there is a partial symbol that looks like a shield near the big end, and a pair of interlocking circles near the small end. The shield has a symbol inside it that could be an 8 or a B or an E. The larger size is about .013" larger than 1/4 inch Wentworth heads, the smaller size ???

does this look familiar to anyone? In theory these are clickable images that will take you to larger photos.

if it is for the starters,  the small end might fit those long starter assembly bolts.

in the picture, the wrench looks thick, too thick for an ignition wrench.

at 1st, I had thought about being used on a magneto.

Thanks - I don't think that Google Books link is relevant, it does turn up the word "DELCO", but nothing related to tools, I think it finds DE1 because the OCR of the text can substitute a "1" for an "l".  I have had suggestions that it is for fuel injection, starter is a good guess also - the fact that it says "for DELCO" suggests that it might have been in a kit with wrenches for other brands of whatever the kit was intended to work on.

Does the small end also come close to matching a Wentworth size?

I think it's for a Delco magneto or Generator

I agree with Lostmind, but would add Regulator to his list.
