I posted this at thegaragegazette and we determined it was a walden but we have yet to determine the intended purpose. lets see if you guy cann help.

Any chance you can turn that on it's side?  Are the sides of the business end broached?

its simply a ball with a slot.

I have a guess. I suspect its a tool for installing headliner bows on 60's cars. I think its ball shaped so it doesnt snag or tear the fabric. But its a WAG!

I think it held some kind of valve scraper.  Like the kind in the old socket sets.

I think it was held in by a pin that went through those holes in the side of the ball end? 

???

there are no holes through the ball end. but thanks for your input.

anyone have a walden catalog from the 60's?

sadly i no longer need a girdle Franz. And the new one Dont shake. I can even see in the mirrors.
