Unknown hatchet maker - Invincible?
« on: October 26, 2015, 08:18:34 PM »
I removed the rust from a very crusty and neglected hatchet and found something unexpected underneath.

The stamp reads Invincible, there are no other markings.

I cannot find anything about this manufacturer on the internet, not even a single tool.

The hatchet might be old, I got an antique tool along with it.

Has anyone heard of this company?

Can't help, but that's a nice pattern - probably rigger's or half, depending on weight, but with a narrower blade (that is, shorter cutting edge) than most I've seen.  Although it could also be a shingling or lathing hatchet in a heavier-than-common pattern.  I bet it's good in the hand.
