Mystery Piece & Williams? Clamp?
« on: February 28, 2016, 03:41:39 PM »
Hello, I found these this morning. In the fist 4 photos is the mystery piece, the blade or, arm, pivots on a graduated scale to 30° in either direction, overall length is 15-1/2" , and the arm is approx. 8". No mfg.'s markings. Appears to be made of aluminum, or pot metal.Possibly an attachment for a larger tool? Shopsmith accessory? The other item has a W within a diamond,so I am guessing this is a J H Williams piece. Very hefty, feels like the bar is solid, first shot is fully closed, leaving 3/4" between the tips. Second shot is fully open, leaving 2-5/8" between the tips, overall length of the body is 5". Thanks for looking, Lou

Your second item is a leaf spring spreader so you can grease in between the spring leafs. The wedge shaped ends are forced in between the spring leafs to create a gap for grease to be applied.
