I've got a PLVMB mystery here, guys.
« on: May 07, 2016, 08:47:29 AM »
Found this one in a bucket with some pullers at a garage sale yesterday.
It appears to be part of a PLVMB puller.  Number   2056-C.  I have the frame, but no jaws and no bolt.
It is in the shape of a long letter H.
It is 1 1/2 by 5 7/8" overall.  1/2" thick (except the center section that accepts a (missing) 1/2" bolt which is 3/4" thick.
The jaws must slide between the legs of the letter H.
It does not match anything I see on Google Images.
No pictures; sorry.  But I am hoping for a little help.
As a last resort, I can donate it for parts.

How much space between the bars?  If it looks kind of like this:

it could be a steering wheel puller, in which case, no arms, just bolts.

Well, yes and no.
The bolt hole and the slots are 90^0 from the one in your picture.
It would not stand on its edge as the ones we see on the web; it would lay flat.
Very strange--and very solid.
It weighs just over 16 oz.

Sounds like a steering wheel puller. Look up a Proto 4056 c.

That is it.
Thanks.
Now all I need to do is find the rest of it.  ;-)
