Diamond tool crate with axe end???

Well, now we do.  It's pretty pretty.

Axe ends are fairly common on crate tools; I assume they were for modifying a crate somehow.

Is that a Diamond Calk Horseshoe product?  Can't quite tell the logo from the darkish picture.

Yes it is a Diamond Horseshoe product.  I've seen other brands with the axe head, but never a Diamond?  Just curious if any one else has seen one before….thanks

I've seen many in the wild with hammers, of course, but never one with a hatchet.
Bridgeport wooden handled ones, yes, but all-steel ones, never.
I guess I just don't get around enough!

I have a 1967 Diamond catalog and they show two sizes of double hammer head crate tools and one with a staple puller pick end/hammer, but none with an ax.  So, I would say yours pre-dates that catalog.

I've had several Diamonds with the double hammer head but none with the axe head.  Not common from that manufacturer.  Good find!
