I hadn't realized how many people made that pattern. For a long time, I thought it was a Starrett exclusive. I inherited a vise like that, but in hand vise mode (wooden handle), from my uncle, and thought it was a Starrett 86 until I started looking for the Starret logo - no luck! Still a good vise.
The pipe thread mounting arrangement is clever - adaptable.
Oh, and let me express my envy that you've got the clamp-on base. A Starrett 86 with the clamp-on base is on my vise quest list (I'm too old to have a vice quest list - I can barely handle the vices I already have! - a joke that may not make sense to any British members), along with a clamp-on or at least miniature Parker, Wilton, Prentiss...
