Mitchell tool kadibbus????

Messed something up....  do over,,,, A Tool made by Mitchell Mfg. of Milwaukee Wis. any ideas? crank moves back and forth about an inch with square drive on end  other ends sides back and forth about a foot hand is used to tighten what ever it is being turned. looks like you could clamp to a full 2 by 4. I Googled  Mitchell Milwaukee they made playground equipt. in the twenties

Hello, Brad. My guess it is used for some type of woodworking. Looks like a quick-adjust mechanism, possibly attach the smaller part of the body to a sawhorse, for gluing. Or maybe a type of flooring clamp. Does the lever on the side engage part of the tool to advance it? Mitchell Mfg. Co. had some sort of connection to Handy, who made a miter clamp, and I believe a few more. Regards, Lou

Mitchell Brothers patented drill press, patented April 2, 1907. Martin Donnelly just posted a picture of one coming up in one of his auctions. Go to his Facebook page to see his and the description.

Nice find, he estimates $60 - $120

How cool is that! mine is just like the drawing on the patent sheet! No setscrew to hold drill bit to spindle I see one of the inventors was William Mitchell wonder if any relation to General Billy of Air Force fame same town?
