Interesting, does the plunger type section move? What happens if it is moved? Do the 2 main legs swivel in relation to each other or are the made to stay at that angle? How about a couple more views/pictures?

Plunger does move up and down legs do not move....It says improved on the reverse side in the casting....i will get some more pics tomorrow..thanks for the reply

Is there a patent number or date on it?  It has a family resemblance to a carpet stretcher or a webbing stretcher with those 4 big teeth.

Is the rod on the back pointed?

I am wondering if it is an old hardwood flooring tool.  I have seen clamps that looked similar.  Here is one.  It looks like the slide will lock when pushed or hit down.

I'd go with carpet stretcher, even with those big teeth.

catch22,  the one that you are showing looks as though that top lever works like a ratchet jack,  that short piece to the right
looks like the release lever.

The rod on the back is pointed ? Working on better photos and gonna go grab another one and dismantle it and look for patent #
