Who made this?
« on: March 14, 2017, 10:36:11 PM »
I know it's a 3/8" drive, 5/8" 12 pt flex socket. Marked with a "W8" and "made in USA" but who made it?

I have a couple of tools marked WIX,  mostly  drain plug tools, I assumed they were to promote wix oil filters.

May be more to this....

I know of a Wix ratchet that was new Britain made so it possible the sockets are too.

I think I have a filter wrench marked wix somewhere.  One of the chain type.   Just took a quick tour of the company historical highlights and they mentioned a hex on some filters at one point. K&N filters still do this on their line of oil filters  so you can loosen them with a wrench or socket.
