asking for help to identify an object
« on: April 22, 2017, 09:06:34 PM »
this is just a suggestion; when requesting help to identify an object, while taking a picture, it would
help to speed the process if a ruler or yard stick was place next to the object.

when we look at an object and no sizes are given, it is not known if it is 6 inches or 6 feet long.

thank you for reading this and keep the questions coming.

Yes.  I took a shim shingle and marked off inch increments with a sharpie, labeling them (1", 2", etc.).  That was fine for up to 11"; I ultimately made a 20" long one for larger objects.

It's much more effective than using a zucchini for scale

I might add that the subject title have a little detail also.
Helps to sort out the "what is this" from the "another unknown".
