BRIDGEPORT offset screwdriver with unusual tip
« on: May 03, 2017, 08:18:26 PM »
Have had this screwdriver many years and wondered several times about this one end. It's like a very small spanner, the width across the tips is .309 and the space between the points is .182. Did BRIDGEPORT or any other manufacturer make an offset like this?  Or is this a custom job by a previous owner? See attached. TIA for your help.

Looks like it might be for the split nuts on hand saws.

Yeah I think it was made that way, not modified.
My friends call me Bob. My wife calls me a lot worse.

Reminds me of a tamper-resistant device, I have some similar tips in my set of T/R stuff, along with various hex and torx drivers that have the little hole in the middle for the matching nub on the screw head.

Hello, pritch. You got me thinking.  I believe some of the early telecom companies , Ma Bell, Western Electric, used a security screw on their outdoor equipment, maybe still used today. Regards, Lou
