Seems like all I do here is ask questions!

Came home with a 1/2" extension.  10 1/2" long.  Heavily built.  3/4" diameter shank.  Little smudges of red paint that look original.
And it's female on both ends.
Any thoughts?

I think that is a drawing of a typical hospital that has been added onto about 17 times

I have several extensions that have 1/2 inch double male ends, but I have never seen a extension with double female ends in any drive size. That drawing should be in color, so it could like blow my mind dude.

Sounds like you've done construction work in a hospital; or worked in one; or had occasion to visit lots of friends in one.

My one uncle, in his later years, got to be a regular customer at his nearest hospital, in the next town over from us; when I went to visit him there, I felt like I should bring a lunch and a bag of color-coded bread crumbs: the lunch to sustain me as I walked down endless hallways and around endless corners, and the bread crumbs so I could find my way back.

I don't like even thinking about hospitals. I have been told that the board of directors at my hospital are thinking about naming the new hospital wing after me. I have been there to many times in the last 7 plus years and they have kept me alive for which I am grateful. Thank God for great health insurance and modern medicine. 50 years ago tonight I had to spend 5 weeks in the hospital because of some kids and Halloween fun. Rant over.

The PR folks at that hospital are going to have a hard time explaining the new "Evil Doctor Surgery Wing."  Patients may be reluctant to check in, too.
