Hello, I found this wrench today. Any ideas? The one end is 1/4" square, and the other is a 1/2" Six Point. I liked the look of it, never seen one before. Thanks, Lou

My guesses would be a bed wrench or a tool post wrench.

lptools

Hello, Both are good guesses,, and I looked at a lot of bed , and, tool post wrenches after reading your post. I could not find a match, and most have only square ends. My guesses were welding tank wrenches, or refrigeration?? I haven't had any luck with those, either.  Bicycle?? Skate key?? Regards, Lou

I like the skate key idea.  If you google that, most of the pressed steel kind have a hex end and a square end.  Do you have any of those where you can measure the size of the openings?

If it was a skate key it would have to be for professional style skates because that wrench would probably cost as much or more that a kids skate.  I was thinking it might be for an oxygen tank and regulator,  maybe for use in a hospital or doctor office setting.  It is cool looking.

I kinda get a "plumbing" feel from this but I have no solid info to help.

I think Skipskip is on the right track. I was thinking it was maybe for a hose bib valve one side for the wheel nut and the other for the valve if no wheel is attached.

Facility maintenance guys on commercial buildings use this tyoe of wrench.

No handles on the valve so the water can't be stole.

Yeah.  I'm scanning some of these "lots" and the prices are stupid.  Then you'll see a reasonable price lot but the shipping kills it.

Lou,  what about "refrigeration wrenches"?  They usually have a standard wrench shape but don't they have a square on one end and a hex on the other?

Hello, Al. I think we are all on the right track, plumbing/boiler/gas valve/refrigeration. I will keep looking. Regards, Lou
