Recent finds

A few pictures of last weekend finds.A home made hacksaw with a handle made of maybe bakelite or some kind of plastic,second pic is a close up of a Trimo basin wrench and the third picture is scraper of some sort. No marking at all on the scraper

A few more pictures. First pic is a pair of Swedish pliers marked Berg or Borg, second pic is a pair of Utica 550-8 pliers, and the third pic is a pair of wire crimpers of some kind. They have AMP stamped on one side and 22-16 P.I.D.G. on the other. One piece of this guy Has a Canadian pat No starting with 48 but that's all I can see,the remaining numbers are covered and I can,t take apart without drilling out A pivot pin. It also says made in the USA on the handle.

A few more pics, the first pic is a guage of some sort, no idea what its purpose is. It has C Seagrief stamped in several locations which i"m quessing was a former owner or the guy who made it. The second two pics are  close ups of the Hacksaw. I also picked up a Stanley Bedrock 604 plane with the round top sides, it has a newer cutter in it but it also has a small chip broken off one side plate which is unfortunate but the plane is very sharp and does work very well. Don't know what happened to that picture, I'll have to try again

Hello, gibsontool. Nice group of tools. I like the badge on the Trimo, and that is an unusual stamp ( to me) on the Utica pliers. The piece with the round base is what I think to be a machinist's surface, or height gage.The scraper, here is a wild guess, for cleaning/prepping cotton buffing wheels?? Regards, Lou

Nice pile. AMP made/makes connectors for the communications industry, and the specialized tools to go with them. The things I am most familiar with are connectors for phone wire used by splicers. The tool you have looks more like it was for heavier sleeves like the ones used on ground wire or open wire, similar to a Nicopress tool. Thanks

Interesting Berg pliers, made by Erik Anton Berg, Eskilstuna, Sweden
The company was acquired by Bahco in 1959, which retained the EA Berg brand in the 1970s and 1980s.

The hacksaw looks like a rehandle of a factory made saw.

This is what I was thinking of, regarding the scraper. Used to clean/roughen the surface of a spinning cotton/cloth buffing wheel.  Regards, Lou

John. You could well be right with your thought on the hacksaw. I had another closer look this morning but can't see any sign of a manufacturers mark and some of the workmanship is somewhat rough but I do have several different tools with no makers mark.
Lou. Good thought, my scraper looks quite similar to your pictures.

I like the accent lines on the Utica pliers.  Utica had a lot very stylized handles on their pliers
