Reiner Quick Set No. 24 Caliper

This has a Patent number of 1731954. This does not match the patent info completely, as the one I am posting does not have the fine adjust feature. Is this a turner's caliper? Thanks, Lou.  And yes, it opens to 24" point to point!!

Nice caliper but I don't believe it could be for turning. Turnings are completely round and thee arms would restrict that caliper from measuring very large circle.
