Star Nail Cup
« on: November 15, 2025, 01:58:45 PM »
This is a Cobbler's nail cup.  Cast iron bowl and stand.  Manufactured by the Star Heel Plate Company.  I've always wanted one, but I didn't think it would happen.  Good fortune smiled on me last week, and this one is mine.  It will be a semi shelf queen sitting in my home office holding my keys, pens, and other pocket carry items.
You might say I have a tool collecting problem....

That's very cool.

It's always a treat to find one of those "looking for, but cant find" things

Nice find , always good to have the base along with it! Having the 8 cup bowl is even better!

I had a Star at one time, had an ugly arc weld on the base, lucky it was in the lettering. I was able to preheat and reweld from the inside  that filled the crack, reduced the build up on the outside. The other one I had was a Kupferle from St.Louis, Mo. very similar in size  and shape. Sold both of them. Still have a couple of Barret brake shoe rivet holders that go on the brake machines
