Tool Store Visit
« on: March 05, 2012, 03:49:01 PM »
As promised I paid a visit to the tool store today in an effort to accurately date the Thorsen catalogs.  No luck with anything Thorsen in that store.  HOWEVER - Let's talk Proto

Apparently the store has been in business (as they told me) since "...long before the 50s with this set of owners".  They are Proto dealers, and have been for all those years.

I won't say what it cost me to get out of that store, but I wanted to share some of the NEW OLD STOCK things I picked up.

I'll tell you this - if a person is in need of anything NOS Proto they should absolutely reach out to me via PM.  Good chance we may find it for you....common wrenches excluded.  NO - he wouldn't let go of NOS Plomb marked stuff......at least not at my price.

That would be  Drool Store Visit....

Very nice, now you need a Proto display board.....(ducking)

(You know, the store probably has an extra one in the back room somewhere...)
Just a weathered light rust/WD40 mix patina.

<throwing cheesy Taiwanese socket> No more tool displays until this one is complete.  I have no idea where I'm going to put it.  Wife says certainly not in house and no budget for new garage for spending on tool displays :(

The spare Proto boards - No - they are in the storage building next door....he already said :)

I know someone in Iowa that would be interested in the NOS Plomb!!!!

He showed them to me, let me touch them, hold them, then quickly took them all back to their resting pillow saying "they're NOT for sale"..............later stating, after I asked if something was sacred, "anything here is for sale".  I knew I didn't want to pay what it would take to get them.
