My suggestion/opinion is no rules ( within reason ) and have a good time, lifes too short.

Always looking for what interests me, anything early Dodge Brothers/Graham Brothers trucks ( pre 1932 or so ) and slant six / Super six parts.

Been thinking on this for a couple days now.  I just can't put my finger on it, BUT, something is just wrong with the name 4in & under club.  That's my take on it.

Gang,

I'm late to the discussion, but would like to participate if it's ok with everyone.  I don't think I own any 4&under adjustables, but I do have plenty of tools in other 4&under categories.  I'm guessing that when this forum get's up and running, there will be lot's of new 4&under categories that we've never considered before.

I am not sure a "6 or more rule" would be productive and/or inviting.
I have tools that I have made from scratch, that are the only one in the world.  The only one in all of history as well.  Genuinely unique.
The smallest Perfect Handle screwdriver ever made would be disqualified?
Anyway you see what I mean.

Plus, how could we ever hope to attract new members if we make requirements on their collection? Everybody has to start somewhere.

4" sure. Third from the right is 4" in this picture.
How about 2" ?   :^)

scottg,

The 4&under forum would not prevent anybody from posting any tool of any size in any of the other TT forum/threads.

I think the new 4&under forum simply represents a specialized interest among a growing number of TT members.

It's not the end of the world as we know it... it's more like the beginning of a new bigger world.  At least that's the way I see it.

Is the idea to have some "private" forum where you a member can post collections whereas it is otherwise private and not view able to non-members?

That is the general idea. Just for posting pictures and lists of your 4 & under tools.

I am not a serious 4=< collector so have hung in the back while those who were set things up. One thing I don't see is a defintion of 4 inch. I note my one 4 inch marked adjustable is over 4 inches. Does that mean 4 inch + pliars are OK? Anything under 5 inches actual measure? Maybe I am the only one confused.
