So...chopping up an old broomstick and drilling holes in it wasn't such a bad idea after all .....-P

I do need to find thinner broomstocks next time tho...

There's always corncobs - something to do with the cob after you eat the corn off (yum!)

Instead of that, you want to find one of the handles below.  This was my most important score from yesterday's yard sale trawling.

I have exactly one of those, It took me a month to figure out what it was ;P
Then I never saw another one :(

I've picked up three of those over the years -- 2 or 3 bucks each.  I started looking for more, and I guess I'll keep looking at junk sales, but when one comes up on eBay, it's a guaranteed $10 item.

They aren't that rare around here. Collected half a dozen and quit looking. They do make a decent handle for a tile probe if you are not using a long one.

Yeah?  I could use a half dozen or more.

I agree with that.  I don't need any more,  or do I?  I probably have 5 or 6 of them.  Around here, I have gotten them in boxes or flats as hidden treasures or at tag sales.  When the auctioneers hold them up, they go for the $10- $15 range.  They actually do make good file handles.  You can lay more of your files in a wrench rack in a toolbox drawer without handles.  When adding them to one of the files, the thumbscrew of these handles makes them very convenient.  So,  one handle for each file storage area is enough unless you use a lot of files frequently.

Well, I use more than three frequently.  Three to six more would probably make me happy.
