Hi folks,
It's the computer genius here.  As of yesterday, I've wound up with a new problem.  Whenever I'm trying to write anyone via my yahoo email account, I'm constantly faced with this pop up window message: we've noticed you may have signed in or signed out in another window.  Click here (OK) to reload your page."
So, I don't have any option except to click on where they say to click on. I can't click the "x" at the top right.....  that doesn't work, I have to click "OK".  It always brings me back to the letter I was writing....  but, 2 or three minutes later, I go through the same process again. Does anyone have any info/ hints about this?  .....  we all know I'm not so great with computers. But, if anyone can help me out, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Normally when this happens it is the result of multiple simultaneous logins (e.g. 2 computers or a computer and a phone both using the same yahoo account OR two windows open for yahoo mail).

Although not well documented, this will also happen if you have mail and messenger (chat) open at the same time. The nasty thing about the chat thing is clicking on the [X] doesn't close it, it just hides it...

It could also be nothing more than the software monkeys have been fiddling with the new mail interface again and broke it...give it a few days...

I don't really know a damn thing about computers (big surprise!)  I don't know anything about texting, face booking, and all of that stuff.  All I want to do is be able to talk to a few of you folks and a few others.  So, I'm still not sure what has gone wrong.  I just have this one computer. I don't go roaming all of the county in hopes that my computer will work everywhere.  Anyhow, I can't seem to write much of anything to anyone without my computer reverting to that page.
cheers,
bird.

OH - You want the "KISS" (keep it simple stupid)  :-)

It started yesterday and you'd never seen it before?  Was there any change event on your PC that happened during that time-frame (e.g. installed a patch, upgraded something, installed something)?

I like Rusty's thinking on the messenger - If Yahoo Messenger is installed and you don't use it you may want to consider uninstalling it.

Bottom line - Yahoo "thinks" you are signing into two places with the same ID, and its trying to make the best of it.

What I do when I can't get my computer to cooperate is to just restart it.  Turn it off via the START button in the lower left corner and in the option box that comes up hit restart.

If that doesn't work, or doesn't make sense, push the button on your computer that turns the power off. Then turn it back on.  This will generally clear things up.  You may get a message that says windows wasn't happy with the way you shut it down but ignore it.  Everything should start back up ok.

Good Luck, Mike
