Politics aren't discussed here for good reason. But, I'm hoping that everyone can vote. I'm particularity concerned with all folks who have been hit with "Sandy."  I wish those folks the best of luck and pray for them. I'm thankful that we all have the right to vote. And I hope that everyone who wants to "have a voice" can have one.
That's it. I hope I'm not going over the "boundaries" here.

If you haven't voted early, get out Tuesday and vote for the candidates of your choice! Don't forget that the down ballot will more directly affect you than the top of the ticket. Vote your conscience, vote your heart, but be informed before voting, whichever side you are on!

Interesting, in Australia it is compulsory to vote if you are 18 or over. Failure results in a hefty fine.

It's probably too late to tell you this. But, I  imagine you already know this: encouraging others to vote is as important or more important than being able to vote. Every American should be able to vote and has an obligation to vote. I would love to encourage persons to vote for a specific candidate. But, that's not for me to say. The key is recognizing and realizing that we have the ability to vote .  Although, I'm not sure that's the case anymore..... that's a story that isn't meant for this site, either.
      You'll be able to vote next year. I'm glad that you are looking forward to that. After all, it's your generation that we're all voting for or against   right now....  a shame you folks don't have a part in it!

You only have to go to the polling booth and register your name, you will be given the voting paper. It's your choice then to throw it in the rubbish, write what you like on it or vote. But you must at least turn up to your local polling booth.
If  by sickness or old age etc. you can not reach a polling booth you can do a postal vote.
Anyone who does not have enough interest in voting in how their country is run does not deserve to ever complain about it.

I am truly thankful for being able to live in a nation that allows us to vote however we choose.

Sadly, though, I know quite a few people who complain bitterly about politics and those in office, but they haven't voted since the 1960's.

I agree with Papaw: While the Presidential election is important, those offices that are down ticket really can have an impact on our lives.

IMO, only those who vote have earned the right to complain about later performance (or lack of performance) of the winners.

Well in the US not voting does not remove your RIGHT to freedom of expression. It's NO ONES business how you vote or whether you vote --- NOW GET OUT THERE AND VOTE or NOT if you so choose it's your right.---

I voted today - I still like to do it the old-fashioned way, rather than by mail-in ballot.  There was a line, yay!

Most Australians vote because they can and not because they must. I can't get my head around someone not voting...do they not give a tinkers cuss about the future of their country?
It's your democratic right to have your say how your country is run, and don't give me that what difference will it make excuse..
