Hello everyone,

I got this tool a fews weeks ago and can not find any information on it. It is marked HELLER BROS with their logo. I know Heller made files, rasps, farrier tools and such but I am not sure what this one is, it seems like the middle of the tool has a purpose as well as the jaws...maybe some sort of fence tool??? Thanks for looking. I hope the photos help.

Those look to be farriers hoof nippers, of the compound variety.   Lots of pressure applied by those jaws.   Have some compound snips, but never seen it on nippers.   Not a common tool i would think.

Cool Tool,  Is the hole for cutting or crimping?

Absolutely the thing, John.  Compound hoof nippers.  Can't be anything else.  With all that mechanical advantage, you couldn't pull nails or anything else -- these will cut through even faster than standard nippers.  And yes, not a common tool at all.

Well, I just had to mention my dogs latest find.....  the deer hoof....  plus part of a leg.  So, I think my dog should become a manicurist for deer hooves. She seems to have quite a talent for hooves.
cheers,
