Missing members
« on: November 05, 2013, 09:06:14 PM »
The other week I had a thought that 1930 hasn't posted in a while. I got around to checking out his profile and it sais he was last active on august 18th. I was wondering if anyone knows how hes doing, hope everything is going ok for him.

I also wonder when bird will check in next.

If I leave any members out that have not posted in a while please feel free to add them in.
And I'm proud to be an American,
where at least I know I'm free.
And I won't forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.

I believe he is back under a different name, but I will not say who, not my call ;P

Bird vanishes for weeks at a time, dunno why, but I expect we will hear from Bird again...whenever it suits....

Hello guys, I did receive a couple of e-mails, one this morning from Brian, a few days ago from Noel, ( others as well ) I have been busy with a big project, not alot of time, I was also getting the feeling that although I REALLY enjoyed corresponding with quite a few members here that some other guys just wished I would fall of the edge of the earth and too be quite frank I am getting sick and tired of this internet/forums bullshit.

I am going too try and get off the internet all together if possible, might not be feasible though since I am addicted to learning something new.

I understand that not everyone has too think alike and we all have different opinions/ways to conduct ourselves but life is too short for me and I dont want too put myself in places that cause me grief or anxiety any longer if possible.

I do appreciate the e-mails, I dont want too sound like a whiner so I will again say thanks for the thoughts.

I do very much miss corresponding with just about everyone here.......in fact everyone here but again I felt that maybe the feelings were not mutual.

Always looking for what interests me, anything early Dodge Brothers/Graham Brothers trucks ( pre 1932 or so ) and slant six / Super six parts.

I certainly hope none of the internet bullshit you have experienced was here on Tool Talk! I have never seen a more friendly and well-mannered group in all my years of forum experience.

If some don't care for your way of seeing things and presenting things, shine them on, Bob!

Exactly the reason why I don’t bother with GG or GJ anymore. I spend way too much time on the internet and want to spend more “doing”, and a select few people made my life unenjoyable.

Yes, very civil and respectful here. Couldn’t agree more.

Although I frequent another forum where it is primarily women and it makes this one look like a bunch of hooligans

Its good to hear from you.

Internet BS is just part of life. Its up to each of us to decide how much we want to deal with.

I personally don't really think there's much on tool talk to complain about, when it comes to members. We are a pretty civil group. I can only count 1 instance when I was offended on tooltalk. I was able to sit back and tell myself the person who is saying that doesn't mean much to me. Who are they to tell me how to live my life or such. They don't know me well. Most of all they are not who determines my life.

Noel was also quik to respond to me and alleviated the issue pretty well.

As much as I wish you would stay here with us at tooltalk, I understand your decision is made up. Don't forgot us an I would love to see you back at anytime.

Prob. not.more than likely my own misinterpretation of something that was said that  I decided to make a mountain out of a molehill with, dosent make any difference either way in the larger scheme of things.

I believe someone here called me a troll, I did not know what that was until I googled it, maybe I misinterpreted what was being said and if I had done the right thing I would have asked the person that made the remark to clarify what they meant but I chose not too. ( shame on me )

Either way I am not the type of person who has nothing better to do than cause problems for other people, I have my opinions, I dont mind sharing them, dont expect everyone to agree with them but also do not expect to be insulted/outright name calling because someone disagreed with them.

I assumed that since the offensive blatantly insulting remark was made and it was allowed to remain within the post that it was shared.

No problem

1930, I am joining the rest of the guys here in saying that I missed your inputs on posts. I always try and read all the latest post by the members here. I like to pickup bits of knowledge dropped on us by the informed on whatever the topic is. As with the rest of us I jump in and add my 2 cents pro and con to a topic. I screw up and miss-state information which is usually corrected pretty quick. I try not to take any comments personnel on here as I do in life as you say it is just to short. I hope you decide to stay on board here and impart your knowledge on the old automotive wrenches and tool kit items as you have done in the past. Just because nobody jumped in to defend a unwanted remark doesn't mean the rest of us were in agreement with the post. In the heat of battle with those that feel they are superior I have written email responses that I later wished I had kept to myself. I guess that happens often in this electronic age. Problem now is, it is out there for more to see then in the old days when you wrote letters to people one at a time.
