finally got my patio done

i had to reinforce my patio so i went all out 6x12 beam and 10 inch vigas and lots of concrete it should stay up now to get the look i used a torch on the poles, then i used Australian timber oil to seal them  it was hard work but this old man got er done lol and only my wife got hurt on this job my cordless drill slipped on a 4 inch screw and the bit on the drill went right threw her finger she said she will no longer help me and that she is giving up carpenter work for ever, and yes i did tell her i was sorry.

thank you and next year i am going to finish it off by putting a deck on top for when the wife wants to set in the sun i think it will be strong enough lol that darn big beam was very heavy it took 5 of us just to lift half of it up on the poles

Good job !!  My wife claims I "over engineer" my projects, but better safe than sorry.

I hope your wife's finger isn't as bad as my imagination has it. When I was building new stairs at our old house, my wife was holding a 4x4 as I was swinging a sledge to drive that last bit. I missed the post and hit her wrist! She was bruised but handled it really well. I felt so bad.

yes her finger was very bad she almost pasted out on me it went through the top and came out on the bottom it drilled right through it plus i had the drill on hammer drill also  when it hit the bone it went around it and them came out the bottom but she was tough, no doctor involved.

You can't tell its rough saw from the photos.  I suspect 6x12 was a beast to set up that high.  I would hope you had more help with that than the wife alone.
